Celebrated every September 29, the World Heart Day is an important platform to raise awareness around the fight against cardiovascular disease and reduce its global burden. As the 5th pharmaceutical company in the world in cardiology and the 1st in hypertension1, we take responsibility and roll up our sleeves, this day like all days of the year. Let’s tour our Group’s affiliates to discover a few initiatives put in place by our teams.
Servier Vietnam, boosting adherence through mobile health
In Vietnam, Servier is focusing its efforts on therapeutic education and adherence, defined by the World Health Organization – WHO as the degree to which a person’s behavior is consistent with the recommendations of their healthcare professional. Cardiovascular disease often leads to serious consequences, such as myocardial infarction, stroke, or sudden death. If diagnosis and treatment are sometimes too late, patients’ prognosis is also worsened by inadequate adherence to treatment.
Therapeutic adherence is a complex, multi-factorial issue. The latest recommendations from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) recommend mobile health interventions (text messages, apps, wearable devices…) to improve patient adherence to healthy lifestyles and medical therapy2. This is why Servier Vietnam has chosen to support Elfie, a free app that invites patients to self-monitor their chronic diseases. Launched in Vietnam in October 2021, the app now has over 150,000 users3 and is endorsed by two doctors’ associations. It includes a digital pillbox, a dashboard to track lifestyle goals and programs dedicated to self-monitoring.
“The successful launch of this project reflects the engagement, the commitment of each and every department and team member in Servier Viet Nam towards Servier vocation, committed to therapeutic progress to serve patient needs”
Long BUI TUAN, Medical Affairs Director

Servier Poland, over two decades of practical education with the Servier for the Heart Campaign
For 21 years, the Servier for the Heart campaign has been engaged in improving the health of the Poles, focusing on education, and building awareness of the benefits of healthy habits. Owing to thoroughly considered actions, constant commitment, and outstanding consistency, it has truly disseminated knowledge about cardiovascular disease risk factors and their relation to health threats. The campaign is unique in both the scale of preventive screening and the range and quality of support gained from medical experts, patient organisations, and media.
Since the beginning, all activities have been driven by a deep conviction that education and building social awareness are the best way to improve the quality of life.
The Servier for the Heart campaign has always offered free care to patients. In the Servier Mobile Cardiology Clinic, more than 60,000 people from over 120 cities and towns in Poland have had free medical checkups. Furthermore, over 200,000 educational materials have been distributed during various events. The Servier for the Heart campaign has gained social recognition and has been supported by numerous Polish medical societies, in addition to receiving several prestigious awards, including Golden Otis with Diamonds, Prix Galien, Healthcare Success of the Year award and the Patient-Centricity Leader title.
The campaign’s achievements, counted in tens of thousands of screened patients by now, prove that the practical aspect of cardiovascular disease prevention contributes to a positive change in the Poles’ lifestyle.
We work alongside patients and health care professionals

We aim to maintain our position through strategic and innovative life cycle management (LCM) to capitalize on our expertise in incremental innovation, particularly in the development of Single Pill Combinations (SPC).
