#BecauseISaySo: An international campaign to keep blood pressure under control

High blood pressure affects millions of people worldwide — sometimes without them knowing it. Yet one simple action can make all the difference: taking your blood pressure regularly. To mark the launch of the new edition of its international “#BecauseISaySo” campaign, Servier reaffirms its commitment to screening and controlling this major chronic disease.

Designed as a global initiative, the campaign is built on three complementary levers: patient information, collaboration with health care professionals and organizations, and engagement by the medical community to promote good practices. It also aligns with the international May Measurement Month initiative, dedicated to raising awareness about blood pressure measurement.

Understanding high blood pressure

High blood pressure is a chronic disease defined by blood pressure that is too high and persists over time. It is one of the leading risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Continuing to rise, it is now one of the leading causes of premature death worldwide according to the WHO1. However, high blood pressure can be well-controlled — provided it is detected early and managed appropriately1.
