Mr Olivier Laureau, President of the Servier Group, has the pleasure to announce that Dr Claude Bertrand will join our group on the 27 March, as General Director of Research and Development to work with Doctor Emmanuel Canet, Executive Vice President of Research and Development.

Claude Bertrand holds a doctorate degree in Pharmacy, a DEA (post-graduate research degree) in Pharmacology and a Ph.D. He completed his studies with a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, in the United States.

Subsequently, he spent the most part of his career in Research and Development holding director-level and senior positions within major international pharmaceutical groups (Novartis, Roche, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca). Before joining Servier, he served as Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Scientific Officer at Ipsen.

The integration of Claude Bertrand expresses our desire to prepare the Group’s future by continuing to place research and innovation at the core of our strategy. Claude Bertrand will, in the long term, succeed Doctor Emmanuel Canet at the head of the R&D Directorate.
