World Diabetes Day: awareness-raising and education at the heart of our subsidiaries’ commitment

In India, where 101 million people are living with diabetes1, our subsidiary works with targeted audiences to raise awareness of the disease.

DiaDialogues : health professionals on the front line

Servier India has launched DiaDialogues, a knowledge-boosting campaign for healthcare professionals, featuring a series of interviews with four experts in type 2 diabetes. These discussions address not only medical treatment but also practical insights on lifestyle management and prevention of diabetes-related complications.

The interviews are available on My Servier India, a dedicated platform offering engaging content to keep HCPs informed and up to date.

Radio at the service of public health

In order to engage locally in raising awareness among a wide audience, Servier India has launched the “Radio Talk” program. This new concept, broadcast throughout the country on regional radio channels, gives a voice to doctors to educate people on a wide front about diabetes. The challenge is to adapt to local problems and thus to best meet population needs.

This initiative guarantees a significant impact by reaching a population that is often under-informed. Doctors offer practical tips to encourage a healthier lifestyle. The goal is to build a culture of proactive prevention and management of diabetes.

Thousands of miles away, Brazil faces an equally important challenge. 16 million Brazilians are affected by diabetes2. As part of the awareness and fight against diabetes, Servier Brazil has partnered with the associations Vozes do Advocacy, National Association for Diabetes Care (ANAD) and Association of Juvenile Diabetes (ADJ) to promote the “Blue Diabetes November” movement. Throughout the month, these associations carry out actions focused on early diagnosis and diabetes education.

Among the highlights of the Servier-supported program are the events organised by the Voices of Advocacy association conducted in 22 cities across the country, which encourage early diagnosis. Health professionals distribute free blood glucose tests, they offer nutritional advice, and they organise physical activities. These are all opportunities for everyone to learn about and support those living with diabetes.

By combining field actions and proactive education around the world, Servier is strengthening its role as a healthcare player determined to act on a daily basis for and with patients.
