“Digital transformation drives therapeutic innovation to benefit patients!” shared Olivier Laureau, President of Servier, speaking at the international event attended by several hundred business leaders, innovative start-ups, and tech giants to discuss the real-world uses and ethical issues related to artificial intelligence (AI). Amid this highly stimulating context, alongside Virginie Dominguez, Executive Vice President of Digital, Data, and Information Systems, Olivier Laureau expressed his enthusiasm for the potential of new technologies, particularly in rare diseases, oncology, and neurology—two high priority areas where unmet needs are significant.
“Our aim is for responsible, human-supervised AI to deliver earlier diagnoses, enhanced disease understanding, more rapid drug discovery breakthroughs and, consequently, speedier drug availability, and real-world monitoring,” continued Olivier Laureau, pleased to be able to make long-term investments and bold innovations due to our Foundation’s unique governance model.

Adopt AI was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the winners of Hack Up, Servier’s first digital transformation Hackathon this November. Four projects were honored:

The Hackathon was co-organized with Artefact, a global leader in data and AI consulting services and the organizer of Adopt AI, and Google, whose partnership with Servier has now been renewed for five years to harness the full potential of AI and boost the productivity of our R&D. Building on this momentum, around 100 employees from across the Group’s business lines, divided into 10 teams and supported by Servier’s tech experts, spent three days developing concrete, structuring projects designed to reflect the pillars of our digital transformation. This is a striking example of how science, creativity, and digital technology can come together to create impactful solutions!
