Servier takes part in Global Industrie to discuss changes in the health care sector

As part of Global Industrie, France’s premier event for industry leaders, Servier participated in a roundtable on April 1, 2026 focused on the transformations taking place in the health care sector. The discussion shed light on the ongoing changes that are reshaping a rapidly-evolving industry.

Across a landscape marked by rapid scientific breakthroughs[AC1] , supply chain pressure, and heightened quality standards, the health care industry is undergoing a profound transformation. This evolution, driven primarily by the availability of reliable data and advanced technology operating capabilities, impacts the entire value chain and touches every stage of the process from research to the patient, including industrial models, logistics systems, and organizational structures.

As a panelist at the “Health Care: The Changes Reshaping the Sector” roundtable, Virginie Dominguez, Executive Vice President of Information Systems, Digital, Data & AI at Servier, highlighted how the Group is adapting to this constantly-evolving environment.

“Transforming the health care industry isn’t just about adopting new technologies — it’s about fundamentally rethinking our models to better meet patient needs with greater precision, speed, and reliability.”

For Servier, modernization is based on a comprehensive transformation of industrial operations. The goal is to better anticipate needs, safeguard supply chains, and ensure consistent drug availability.

Data plays a central role here, becoming an operational asset in its own right. Leveraged in real time, it can be used to anticipate and optimize processes and inform decision-making. As such, technology helps to:

  • refine activity forecasting and planning,
  • improve product traceability,
  • optimize production processes,
  • speed up and increase the reliability of decisions.

These changes mark a gradual shift from a reactive organization to more predictive and proactive models that are capable of continuously enhancing their performance.

Beyond experimentation, one of the major challenges the industry is facing is rolling out innovations on a large scale. The issue is no longer merely to demonstrate the value of new approaches but to incorporate them sustainably into industrial operations. Alongside these efforts, pilot sites can be used to test and scale up new processes before their rollout across the entire network. At the same time, we are witnessing a significant push to develop team skills —a prerequisite for embedding these changes into our practices for the long term.

These developments are part of a broader trend of technological convergence. Artificial intelligence, simulation, automation, and the use of data at the operational level are helping to redefine industrial performance standards. By seamlessly integrating these technologies, the pharmaceutical industry can evolve toward more connected, efficient, and robust models equipped to keep pace with the sector’s growing demands.

This cannot be achieved alone. Transforming the health care industry requires a collective effort. As the Global Industrie roundtable highlighted, the most transformative innovations emerge at the intersection of various stakeholders — manufacturers, institutions, startups, and academia. With this in mind, Servier is fully committed to collaboration and co-creation, with the conviction that industrial and technological challenges call for shared solutions.
