our strategic pillars

The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the supporting conventions provide an important foundation for developing a more sustainable world. Companies operating globally are confronted with human rights conditions in various settings in which they operate. It is therefore an important element of corporate social responsibility to protect human rights within the company’s sphere of influence.

Adults use around one-third of their time at work. Conditions in the workplace, therefore, have a significant impact on people’s health, safety, and well-being. Globally, an estimated 2.3 million workers die annually due to work-related accidents or illnesses (ILO). An increasing number of cases of stress-related diseases and mental health issues, particularly among office workers, make up a significant share of the health burden in many societies. Among physical workers, preventing accidents and protecting them from hazardous substances remains a challenge in many countries.

It is by protecting the health and safety of our employees that we are able to foster a fulfilling working environment. With our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) strategy, we are committed to ensuring a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment for all, and to conducting our operations in a manner that minimizes our impact on the environment.

To bolster the safety culture and thereby reduce the total number of accidents, we launched the SAFE (Safety Always For Everyone) program in 2021 and updated it in 2024 under SAFE3. SAFE3 sets out the essential safety rules to follow throughout the Group and gives details of ways to encourage all people working in our facilities to buy into the philosophy.

Our objectives

  • Ensure < 0,30 Lost Time Incident Rate1 by 2030
Ensure 0 Serious injury & fatality work-related event, each year

Historical inequalities, cultural norms, and barriers continue to limit equal opportunities for population groups. Social and economic structures often reinforce exclusion, making it difficult for some populations to fully participate in education, employment, and leadership. This lack of inclusion not only affects individuals but also limits innovation and progress.

Our ambition

  • Maintain and further strengthen gender balance at all managerial levels by 2030
  • Increase international representation for Top 500 by 2030

local networks striving to achieve parity in 5 countries: these structures create networking opportunities, organize events for members to connect with one another, and hold personal development workshops, while also operating leadership and mentoring programs.

Networks to promote gender equality

Several local networks have been set up to help promote gender equality in the workplace. These networks are highly active, organizing networking opportunities, meetings between members, personal development workshops and participation in leadership and mentoring programs. There are seven networks in place in five countries: at the Group’s headquarters, at the R&D site in Paris-Saclay, as well as the production sites of Gidy in France, Arklow in Ireland, Anpharm in Poland, Tianjin in China and Toledo in Spain. Other networks are currently being set up, including at the Bolbec site in France.

Businesses affect local communities where they have sites and local offices in various ways. In areas with industrial operations, the positive impact in terms of taxes paid, employment, and livelihoods can be important to the local community. Investing in communities, fostering good relations with neighboring businesses and households, and leveraging the resources of employees to take local actions can, therefore, contribute to responsible business.

Our objectives

Ensure all strategic affiliates and sites have a local social commitment strategy in 2030.
