Oliver DACILLO
Sales and Marketing Director

Start date at Servier: August 1994
Background (education, qualifications): Bachelor of Science in Nursing

MY CAREER AT SERVIER

For 25 years, I have held various roles of increasing responsibility which spanned across Sales, Training, and Marketing. I started out as Medical Representative, was then promoted to Area Manager, then Training Officer, Product Manager, and Field Sales Manager. Thereafter, I was appointed as Head of Sales, a position I held for 10 years before becoming the Sales and Marketing Director.

The most fulfilling part of my job is to see the company grow because it opens doors for our people to develop, build their careers and consequently, secure a better future for their families.

I am proud to be part of Servier because I can be a conduit in ensuring that quality medicines are available for my countrymen.

WHAT I DO

As the Sales and Marketing Director, I oversee not only the Sales and Marketing Operations but also the Sales Force Effectiveness Office and Sales-Marketing Support Services. Our team’s mission is to achieve and even surpass the subsidiary’s sales and financial goals by putting in place business strategies and ensuring quality execution.

If I were to describe what is needed to ensure the sustainability of our team’s performance given the dynamism of the market and the challenges brought about by the VUCA* forces, it would be AGILITY. We must be quick to think on how to appropriately respond to the challenges at hand, make timely and quality decisions to ensure that whatever it is that we are doing is always relevant to patient needs. It is also important to have the foresight in tapping new business opportunities.

All this will only be possible by fostering an environment that promotes motivation and engagement amongst our people as well as collaboration across teams and departments.

WHY I LIKE MY JOB

The collaborative environment, empowerment, recognition, and rewards – these are just few of the many things I like with my job. But the most fulfilling part of my job is to see the company grow because it opens doors for our people to develop, build their careers and consequently, secure a better future for their families.

Beyond that, I am most proud to be part of Servier because I can be a conduit in ensuring that quality medicines are available for my countrymen.

VUCA* stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity and is widely used to describe the complex environments in which organizations operate today.
