Fighting depression: Servier’s commitment

The leading cause of disability worldwide, depression, affects the lives of 264 million people – the majority of whom are not getting adequate treatment. For over 30 years, Servier has been committed to improving the lives of patients with depression and to reducing the stigma surrounding this disease.

They [people] even refuse to get help for depression because they feel like it will be a label on them to get a diagnosis.

“Depression is an illness, not a state of mind (Tahar Ben Jelloun, Franco-Moroccan writer). To this illness, often severe and too badly treated, it is necessary to provide various therapeutic solutions adapted to each patient. This is what Servier has been contributing to for many years”

Dr. Pierre-François Penelaud, Director of Development Neuropsychiatry at Servier.
